Swivel eye bolts allow for full swivel and pivot action. This allows the part to flip and turn without unhooking. It eliminates the bending problem that occurs when normal eye bolts are used.

There are bolts with shoulders or without. Machinery eye bolts that have a collar are good for angular loads up to 45 degrees. Plain, regular (non-shoulder) or ring bolts should only be used for vertical loading. Using them with angular loads will break or bend them.

Eye bolts are marked with their thread size instead of their rated capacity. It is important to choose the right one based on the capacity of the lift and type. Eye bolts and eye nuts are usually used with lifting machines, appliances or other objects that cannot be lifted by hand or a fork lift truck.
